Chesterfield have been given permission to hold talks with Accrington Stanley boss Paul Cook over the vacant managerial position at the club.

The Spireites were given the go-ahead to speak to Cook after agreeing compensation with their League Two rivals.

Tommy Wright has been in caretaker charge at the Proact Stadium since the departure of John Sheridan at the end of August.
