Chesterfield FC players Sam Togwell and Terrell Forbes took part in a pioneering Q&A session via Skype with pupils from Brockwell Junior School.

The pair answered questions from the children during a video link-up over the internet. They were quizzed on various topics, ranging from their best-ever goal to who they think will win The X Factor!

When asked for any advice they would give to anyone who wanted to become a professional footballer, Togwell said: “Work hard and enjoy it.”

Brockwell Junior School head teacher Therese Sedgwick felt the session was a great success. “It was fantastic to see the children really engaged in using the new technology,” she said.

“Speaking to their heroes really helped them think carefully about the questions they asked. Using Skype was a great way to give children an opportunity to meet the players, which otherwise they would not have had.”

Chesterfield FC Community Trust education & skills manager Kay Adkins, who co-ordinated the session, said: "It was very exciting to undertake this project with Brockwell Junior School.

“Not only were our players able to chat to the students about their experience in football but we were all able to learn a little more about new methods of communication."
