Caretaker-manager couldn't hide his delight after securing the services of Luis Boa Morte this week.
The former Arsenal, Fulham and West Ham man joins initially until the end of January 2013.
Speaking ahead of the Spireites' game against Dagenham at the weekend, Wright was keen to emphasise that the signing was not a publicity stunt.
He said: "I know some people think that it's a good media signing but we signed him because we know he's a good player.
"The think about him is his work rate is magic for a player a player of his age.
"In training this morning he looked like a 22-year-old and I even stopped training to emphaise to the younger players look at what he's achieved in the game and look how he's
training and that says everything about the guy.
"People say he's 35 and that but he's been a top player.
"He's played for Portugal twenty-eight times and not many mugs play for Portugal.
"If we made Jack Lester available tomorrow there would probably be a queue of clubs around the corner wanting his services and it's the same with Luis.
"Luis is a fit guy, he's a very humble guy, and as I say I think he'll be a great addition."
"We've spoke many times that we were desperate for a left sider and you don't get many better than that.
"I didn't think I'd get someone of that quality and as I say the age thing is not really a problem."
Luis is likely to go straight into contention for a place in the first-team squad against Dagenham on Saturday, providing he gains international clearance in time.
Tommy said: "We've got all the paperwork and we've sent it to Orlando Pireates, which was his last registered club, and we're just waiting on them replying really."
