Chesterfield FC Community Trust Walking for Health group is again organising a Christmas event, following on from last year’s highly successful day.
The event, on Thursday, December 6, features healthy walking followed by a two-course festive lunch, which costs just £10.
A longer walk of around two hours starts from the Proact Stadium at 10.30am while a shorter, entry level walk of approximately one hour will start at 11.30am.
Each walk will consist of a number of groups of approximately 30 walkers. All groups will return to the stadium at around 12.30pm for lunch at 1pm.
The menu includes roast Derbyshire turkey and seasonal vegetables (with a vegetarian option), followed by Christmas pudding served with a rum sauce. There will also be coffee and chocolates at the end of the meal.
If you would like to book on a walk and not have a meal there is no charge. Shoes can be left in a safe area at the stadium and there will be an opportunity to change walking boots etc before the meal.
Community Trust staff are planning to organise a number of optional, free social activities and ground tours following the lunch. It is expected that the activities will finish at 4pm.
