20-year-old Tendayi Darikwa signed a contract extension earlier this week, keeping him at the club until 2015.

The Nottingham-born midfielder burst onto the first team scene this season with a number of impressive attacking displays.

Darikwa is now considered a regular in the first eleven and he is delighted with how this year has gone.

Speaking to Spireites Player, he said: "Personally it's been a great year for me. I've started playing first team football, which is obviously what everyone wants to do, but as a team we need to start winning.

"My preffered position is to play on the right of midfield but everyone knows I'm happy to play anywhere as long as I'm out there on the field.

"I feel most comfortable out there [right midfield], I think I'm most suited to playing on the wing and hopefully I can show that in my performances".

Despite his age, the midfielder has worked with three managers already in his career.

Darikwa is pleased with the new management set-up at the club especially with Tommy Wright staying on as assistant to Paul Cook.

He said: "I'm happy to play for anyone as long as I'm playing football.

"He's [Paul Cook] happy with my progress. He's obviously said there's a lot I need to learn, which is understandable being a young lad.

"He's helping me everyday in training and I'm trying to progress.

"For me it's been a big boost [Tommy Wright staying as assisant manager], Tommy was the one who gave me my chance to stake a place in the starting eleven which I am very thankful for."
