New signing Liam Cooper is keen to make a good first impression on Chesterfield supporters when he makes his debut against Hartlepool tomorrow.
The defender joined on loan for a month from Hull City and is delighted to be given the opportunity of regular first-team football.
Speaking to Spireites Player after joining the club, he said: "It's an opportunity to come and play some games and what better club to come and play some games.
"Hopefully I can put some good performances in and we can start getting some results.
"I'm hard working, I always wear my heart on my sleeve and hopefully I can come and be a strong point."
The 21-year-old is Paul Cook's first addition to the squad he inherited last month and Cooper explained what the new manager said to him.
"He just told me to settle in, be confident in my ability and I always will be so I've just got to concentrate and try and put a good performance in," Cooper said.
"It's a time for me to get some games and hopefully I can play well in those games and see where that leaves me at the end of my loan."
