Winger Brennan Dickenson joined Chesterfield on loan for a month from Brighton earlier this week.
The 19-year-old is highly regarded at the Championship club and he is hoping that his performances at the Proact Stadium could help force himself into the first team picture.
Speaking to Spireites Player following his loan move, he said: "My expectations are just to gain experience in the league and hopefully go back to Brighton and get in the first team.
"If not, then maybe if they [Chesterfield] want to extend my loan then I would be happy to stay possibly and then we'll see what happens.
"It's a month loan and obviously if I do well and the club are intertested in extending the loan, and Brighton agree and stuff like that, I'd probaly have no objections to staying on."
Dickenson is naturally a left winger but can play across the front line.
When asked about his style of play, he said: "I like to get the ball to my feet and then take on players or the ball over the top and chase it, I don't mind.
"Coming in and linking up, playing and just getting in dangerous areas and whipping a ball in and hopefully someone gets on the end of it."
