Tendayi Darikwa has put pen-to-paper on a new contract until 2015.
The 20-year-old has been one of Chesterfield's most consistent players so far this season, contributing two goals alongside a number of impressive performances.
Darikwa has played much of his football at right back for the Spireites but has proved a real threat when operating out on the wing.
He was handed a one-year deal in the summer but his efforts this campaign has seen him extend that contract for another three years.
Tendayi is a product of Chesterfield's youth system where he graduated alongside fellow midfielder Craig Clay.
