Jack Broadhead signed his first professional contract with Chesterfield this week, agreeing a two-and-a-half year deal at the Proact Stadium.
The commanding centre-half, who is the current Young Player of the Year, made his first team debut earlier this month; coming on as a substitute in the 6-1 win over Hartlepool.
Broadhead was delighted to sign his first pro deal but he is certainly not taking it for granted and puts it down to hard work.
Speaking to Spireites Player, he said: "It feels great to get something you've worked so long for, so hard from a lad you've worked hard for it.
"I appreciate how lucky I am to get a chance at Chesterfield. I'm prepared to work, I will work as hard as I can to make it happen because I know there are a lot of lads out there that would give their right arm for what I've got.
"I've still got a long way to get in as a regular [in the first team] but obviously it's my main goal.
"I think I've got quite a long contract so obviously that's what I want to do, I want get in the first team."
