Chesterfield began their pre-season programme with a 6-1 win at Staveley Miners Welfare on Saturday afternoon.
Jacob Hazel scored twice with Scott Boden also on target as the Spireites established a 3-0 lead at the half-way stage. Jordan Bowery, Tendayi Darikwa and Mark Randall (penalty) found the net in the second-half with Kyle Hawthorne grabbing a consolation for the hosts.
Hazel (15) opened the scoring, slotting the ball past keeper Luke Herriott after he was put through by Scott Boden.
After Keith Quinn struck the woodwork with a long-range effort, Boden (22) scored with a near-post header following a fine right-wing cross from Jack Waddle.
The lively Hazel had a shot on the turn touched wide before scoring his second goal of the game in the 35th minute with a neat finish after receiving the ball from Craig Clay.
Boden saw a header turned wide and Quinn had a shot blocked in the closing stages of the half.
Bowery, who was one of four players introduced as half-time substitutes, found the net in the 54th minute with a close-range finish from Wafula's ball in.
After Hawthorne (56) scored for Staveley, Darikwa scored with a superb left-foot strike after linking up well with Bowery.
Randall rounded off the scoring two minutes from time with a casually taken penalty after Bowery was fouled by Herriott.
