John Sheridan took his side to train at the home of high-profile Chesterfield fan, the Duke of Devonshire, as preparations continue for the new season.
The first-team squad went through a light recovery session at Chatsworth House in front of representatives from a variety of local and national media organisations.
The Spireites kick-off their pre-season fixture programme with a trip to Staveley Miners Welfare on Saturday (kick-off 2pm) and Sheridan is pleased with how the squad is shaping up.
He said: “I’m pleased - they’ve worked really hard.
“The most important thing is keeping everyone fit for the start of the season.”
He added: “We’ve got a bit of a smaller squad now so it’s important that we do keep everyone fit."
With five new signings in place for the new season, the manager is pleased with how they have settled in.
“They’ve all fitted in really well," he said.
“They’ve got a bit of character about them so they have fitted in ok.”
The summer recruitment was tied up well before pre-season began and Sheridan was giving nothing away about any further additions to the squad.
He said: “I’ve got to look at the budget and at what I need and at what is available to me.
“But at this moment I’m happy with what I’ve got and if we can keep everyone fit then we’ll be a strong outfit.”
