With preaparations for the new season well under way, Youth Team manager Dave Bentley is pleased with how things are shaping up.
The players have been back in training for around two weeks and Dave is pleased with how they're settling in.
He said: "Pre-season has gone very well. The lads are working hard, as we would expect them to.
"The new lads have settled very quickly which isn't always easy, especially for the ones who are leaving home for the first time."
Bentley's side have played Sheffield Wednesday twice as part of their pre-season programme.
The Spireites were held to a goalless draw in the first encounter but the Owls emerged victorious the second time around with a 0-2 victory.
Dave was pleased with the performances in general but admitted that there was things that needed to be worked on.
He said: "In the first game I was very impressed with how we attempted to play.
"We had good possession and created a number of chances, but we were unable to take them."
The 0-2 defeat was a lesson in seeing a game out the the young Spireites.
Speaking about the game Bentley said: "We didn't get on the ball enough and we lost it in bad areas.
"Sometimes you don't play well but you need to see the game out and hold on for a point.
He added: "We gave away two sloppy goals late on and it ended up costing us. But they'll learn from it."
The lads are next in action on Friday, 20 July when they take on Hucknall U19s away.
