Tommy Lee is gearing up for Chesterfield's assault on League Two, and the 'keeper is not fazed by the introduction of competition.
Former Sheffield Wednesday stopper Richard O'Donnell was bought in by John Sherdian to add competition for the number one jersey.
Speaking to Spireites Player, Lee revealed that he welcomed the competiton for his place.
He said: "Competition is always good. No matter what position you play it keeps people on their toes.”
The news that coach Mark Crossley would be remaining at the club, following an approach from Championship side Birmingham City, is another boost for the 26-year-old.
“I’ve said it before Mark’s been brilliant for me since he came to the club but so have the gaffer (John Sheridan) and Tommy (Wright).
He added: “They’ve brought my career on and all three of them deserve everything that they get in the game.”
