Jordan Bowery is looking to put the disappointment of relegation behind him and fire Chesterfield back to League One.
The 21-year-old topped the scoring charts for the Spireites last season with 12 goals.
Speaking to Spireites Player at the club's private training session at Chatsworth House, Bowery revealed that he is not thinking about last season.
He said: “It’s a fresh start, we just need to do as well as we can and get back up there.”
The introduction of Marc Richards and Jacob Hazel mean that 5 strikers are now vying for a starting place and Bowery feels that the competition for places is positive.
“There’s always been competition no matter if there are 3 or 4 strikers, now there are 5.
He added: “He’s (Marc Richards) a good player and he scores goals, he’ll do well for us so it’ll be good competition.”
The pre-season campaign kicks-off at Staveley on Saturday, 21 July and the striker can't wait to get some match action.
He said: “It’s been tough a tough pre-season, every year is hard, but that’s what it’s there for, it benefits us and gets us fit.
“There’s been a lot of running, and ball work to be fair, but the fitness is nothing like game related.”
