Tommy Wright is looking forward to a return to competitve action when Chesterfield take on Tranmere Rovers in the first round of the Capital One Cup.
The Spireites face Tranmere three times last season and Tommy know's it could be a difficult evening.
Tranmere are a different side under former Rotherham manager Ronnie Moore, but Wright still feels he knows what to expect from the Merseysiders.
He said: “They’ve had a few changes over the past year; obviously Ronnie went in and did a great job in saving them from relegation.
“When they lost here they changed their manager and we looked on level pegging with them, but Ronnie went in and he saved them.
“We know Ronnie well, they’ll be organised, hard to beat and good at set-plays that’s for sure.
“But it’s a game we can win, there’s no doubt about that.
“If we play well we can win, but if we’re not at our game then it’ll be a difficult night.”
Chesterfield fans will need little reminding of the last time Ronnie Moore faced the Spireites, his Rotherham side were blown apart 5-0 by a rampant Chesterfield.
When asked about that game Tommy said: “I wouldn’t mind that again.
“I think he’ll be doubly determined for that not to happen again though.”
