John Sheridan is hoping that Chesterfield can kick-start their season with a win against Rotherham United.

The Millers come to the Proact Stadium as fellow promotion contenders having spent big in the summer.

Steve Evans' men were beaten 2-1 away at Northampton in mid-week and Sheridan will be hoping his side can inflict another defeat on Rotherham on Saturday.

He said: "I think it’s a good game for us. I think Rotherham are going to be up there this season because they’ve brought a lot of players in and have got a strong squad.

"I know it’s going to be a tough game but we’re the home team and I expect us to win the game. Getting three points would give us a big lift. As we’re playing in a derby game, there would be no better time to get our first win."
