The youth team made it back to back wins in the EFL Youth Alliance North East on Saturday, after a 5-1 thrashing of Bradford City.
Miguel Llera’s took an early lead at St George’s Park Sheffield Graves, when after some good build up play, Charlie Wakefield’s excellent through ball found striker Luke Rawson, who calmly rounded the goalkeeper before rolling the ball into the net.
Ify Ofoegbu then doubled the Spireites’ lead, when he met a Wakefield corner with a powerful header, before Rawson got his second of the game and 16th of the season, when he headed in Wakefield’s cross from left flank.
Rawson then got on the end of Jamie Sharman’s pass down the right, before advancing into the area and teeing up strike partner Levi Amantchi, who made it 4-0 with a cool finish.
The visitors then pulled a goal back from the penalty spot, but the Spireites’ emphatic win was sealed, when Amantchi got his second and fourth in his last two matches, holding off two Bantams defenders before back-heeling the ball into the net.
Llera’s men are next in action, when they travel to Hartlepool United on Saturday, 12pm.
