IS THIS THE WAY TO WEMBLEY

By Ben Frost aged 13years.

(to the tune of Amarillo)

When the day is dawning,

On a SPIREITE match day morning,

How I long to be there,

With the supporters bus waiting for me there,

Every single fan,

Is getting up,

And heading down to Wembley,

To see the SPIREITES win the cup.

Is this the way to Wembley,                                                  (CHORUS)

Every night I've been dreaming of the cup,

Heading down to Wembley ,

And  the supporters bus wait's for me.

Shal-la-la-la-la-la-la, Shal-la-la-la-la-la-la,

Shal-la-la-la-la-la-la,

And the supporters bus wait's for me.

The SPIREITES are singing,

The voices boom around Wembley,

And Roy McFarland,

Enter the field of play,

It's kick off time,

Were off again,

Larkin to Hurst,

Who scores the vital first.

(CHORUS)

A SATURDAY MATCH

By Ben Gelsthorpe age 9.

I went to watch CHESTERFIELD play,

The game started without delay,

They passed the ball,

First Kovacs to Bailey then to Hall,

A shot at the goal from Kevan Hurst,

I prayed that the goalie would do is worst,

Then the goalie made the save,

Then all the fans did a Mexican wave,

The ref he was small, he was not very big,

To be honest I thought he was wearing a wig,

Roche kicked the ball to Hazell,

Then saw the ref with his finger up his nasal,

Hurst got the ball everyone cheered,

Then their goalie disappeared,

Into the net we had won,

Everyone shouted 'COME ON MY SON',

And that was the end of the game,

I hope next time they will do the same.
