Chesterfield FC looks set to turn the historic last league match at Saltergate into a day of celebration for its supporters.
As well as the big match against AFC Bournemouth, which kicks-off at 3.00pm on Saturday 8 May, there is to be an emotional start to the day with a special celebration event at the town's Pomegranate Theatre starting at 11.00am.
The extravaganza will be two hours of sheer nostalgia, music and laughter as supporters and former players share their memories of Saltergate over the years. There will be action highlights on the big screen and rare footage of key moments as the curtain finally falls on 139 years of football at 'The Rec'.
Tickets for the Spireites Last Match Celebration are on sale at the Pomegranate Theatre Box Office on a first come first served basis and cost Adults £7 Juveniles U15 £2.

The Spireites Last Match Celebration, which is being organised by the Chesterfield FC in the Community Trust, is being hosted by the Sheffield Star's Phil Tooley.
Community director John Croot said: "It is open to all and will give local townsfolk, and any supporters without a match ticket for the sell-out game, the chance to participate in this emotionally-charged last match day for the club."
The show will be followed by a big colourful parade with Holymoorside Brass Band and cheerleaders the Spirettes setting out from Rykneld Square (Tourist Info Centre from 1.15pm.
The parade will meander through the town centre up to Saltergate ahead of the sell-out last league game against AFC Bournemouth, which kicks-off at 3.00pm.
