A reserves local-derby at Saltergate against Mansfield Town resulted in a 4-1 victory for the Spireites.
Chesterfield opened the scoring after 20 minutes with a goal as good as it gets. A seven man passing move was finished off in some style when Lloyd Kerry rounded the Stags 'keeper to slot the ball into the net.
Mansfield equalised five minutes later when a deflected shot looped over Matt Malak in the Chesterfield goal.
In a fast moving first-half the Spireites took the lead for a second time when Scott Boden fired low into the right hand corner from the edge of the box to make it 2-1 at the break.
Twenty minutes into the second-half and Scott Boden got his second goal when through on goal he nicely dinked the ball over the Stags 'keeper.
Lloyd Kerry also got a second goal following another good move when substitute Tendayi Darikwa played the ball into Kerry's feet for the Chesterfield midfielder to shoot into the bottom corner.
Although the tempo dropped the work had been done in another good work-out for the Spireites.
