After a bright start, when Chesterfield took an early lead from Martin Gritton's headed goal, it was always on the cards that a stronger more experienced Forest side, which included striker Dele Adebola, would prove to be very stiff opposition.
And so it proved, with a Forest equaliser after 20 minutes and two killer goals either side of half-time.
Despite that, the Spireites team, which included four trialists, gave it a real go with one of the trialists missing two sitters, firing into the side netting and shooting over. Martin Gritton had a good header saved on the line.

In action at Wilford Lane
Although chances were limited for the Spireites it was what they call 'a good workout'.
Forest wrapped it all up with a fourth goal virtually on the final whistle to give the final scoreline an unfair reflection on what had really happened through the ninety minutes.

Mark Crossley's team talk
Player coach Mark Crossley said: "It's fair to say that Forest were a stronger and more experienced outfit so the result is not a surprise."
"The workout was the most important aspect, as was the chance to see some trialists and some of our younger players in action."
The result is the Spireites first defeat of the season after five wins and one draw.
Final result: Forest 4 Spireites 1
