Youth Team's York preview

Posted on: Fri 24 Apr 2009

Just 90 minutes remain for Chesterfield's Youth side as they approach their last match of the season. A successful league campaign has seen the Spireites rise to the top of the North East Conference. Dave Bentley's team along with Hull City are the only sides in the League that are capable of title glory.

Chesterfield have the advantage over The Tigers as a victory for Bentley and his side will bring silverware back to Saltergate for the second time in three seasons.

The Tigers though have a game in hand over the Spireites, but are four points behind so a win at the weekend will seal the title for Chesterfield. If the Spireites do drop points in Yorkshire then the title is not completely lost, but it will require Hull to slip up in their last two league matches.

Chris Tingay's missed training this week

On form strikers Jordan Bowery and Adam Smith will be looking to make an impression on their last time in a Chesterfield shirt before d day arrives. For many of the squad it will be one last chance to shine and prove their worth as professional contracts will be decided at the end of the month.

York and the Spireites have meet twice already this season, once in the League and once in the Cup, with Chesterfield beating the Minstermen on both occasions. Utility player Chris Tingay has been absent from training this week with a hip injury, but apart from that Bentley has no fresh injury concerns.

The match is 11am kick off in York.
