The Chesterfield team, which included three trialists, gave other members of the squad the chance to get in some useful match practice.

After the scores were level at the break, the visitors took the lead early in the second half.

But the Spiretes were soon back on equal terms when Paul Harsley rifled the ball home.

Late on, Ben Algar nipped through into the box to slot the ball past the 'keeper for what proved to be the winning goal.

Chesterfield line-up:  Trialist, Harlsley, Gray (sub Holmes 75), Page, Goodall, Trialist, Winter, Trialist, Algar, Currie, Boden (sub Askham 45).

Result:  Chesterfield 2  1 Stockport County
