Youth team review
With three of the top five teams all finishing their season last weekend, the last two remaining sides are the only potential title contenders.
Chesterfield are top of the table on 48 points and have one fixture remaining, while Hull City trail the Spireites by four points but have two matches left to play.
This all sets up a very exciting season finale when the Spireites travel to York on Saturday to play their last match of the 2008-09 campaign. The North Yorkshire outfit defeated Grimsby Town at home last weekend and can finish the season second if they can manage two wins out of their last two fixtures.
Dave Bentley's side's brilliant performance over the Iron on Saturday saw the Spireites extend their unbeaten run, which still steams from January 3rd, an impressive stretch to say the least. The Spireites can still bring the silverware back to Saltergate if they slip up and drop points against the Minstermen at the weekend, but they will require Hull to slip up as well.
Their season has taken a turn for the better since the Christmas period and has remained on course ever since.
Saturday's results from the North East Conference:
Bradford City 8 - 0 Boston United
Darlington 0 -3 Hull City
Hartlepool United 3 - 1 Doncaster Rovers
Rotherham United 2 - 1 Lincoln City
Scunthorpe United 1 - 3 Chesterfield
York City 1 - 0 Grimsby Town
