Youth's destiny in their own hands

Posted on: Thu 09 Apr 2009

After last weekend's draw against Rotherham,League success looked to have slipped away from the Spireites but Grimsby Town and Hull City handed Dave Bentley's side all the cards after both suffering defeats.

With the title chase turning into a three way competition over the past few weeks, the Spireites seem to finally have the trophy in sights.

Defeats to Grimsby and Hull mean, with just three matches left, Chesterfield will be crowned winners come April 25th if they win all their matches regardless of any other results.

The standard of football in the North West Conference has proved that any team is capable of victory over another, with nothing to be taken for granted even with just three games remaining.

Chesterfield play their last home match at Warminster Road of the season on Saturday against Lincoln City. That match is an 11am kick off and hopefully will take the Spireites one step closer to League success.
