Chesterfield had a behind-closed-doors practice game against Doncaster Rovers at their Cantley training ground, which consisted of three 30 minute periods.

It was an opportunity for squad members and some first teamers on both sides, as well as a couple of trialists, to get some match action. 

The Chesterfield squad was rotated through the game to ensure everyone got plenty of match practice.

The home side scored in the first period with a shot from Darren Byfield and Derek Niven scored an equaliser in the second period.

Two more goals were scored in the third period, one for either side. 

Paul Heffernan fired home Doncaster's second goal but a trialist for Chesterfield waltzed through five minutes from the end to score a deserved equalizer.
