Chesterfield's Youth Team should take on their Scunthorpe United counterparts this Saturday weather permitting, which is the first time the Spireites have played a competitive game in over a month. Dave Bentley's side had three consecutive matches called off in the run up to Christmas, leaving players without regular football. Despite the lack of competitive games, Bentley ensures his squad have been training just as hard and are ready for the up and coming January fixtures.

Forward Jordan Bowery has been involved in Lee Richardson's squad over the busy Christmas period giving the youngster more experience. Bowery appeared on the bench for the only League victory of December for the first team against Port Vale.

Currently 5th in the North East Conference League, Chesterfield have games in hand to climb the league ladder higher if they can get the results. Chesterfield's opposition this Saturday currently lie in 9th position in the league. Last weekend saw Scunthorpe beat 4th place York City away from home by two goals which means the Spireites will not have an easy game on their hands.
