Dave Bentley's side have now had their past three matches all called off due to extreme weather conditions, fog, ice and rain, and now don't have a competitive game until the new year.

The Spireites, currently in 5th place in the North East Conference, face Scunthorpe United as their next opponents in a re-arranged fixture come January 3rd 2009.

The break will give Dave Bentley and his side the chance to look back and reflect on the first half of the season.

With six wins, one draw and four defeats in 11 games, Chesterfield's league campaign has been steady.

In the past, Chesterfield has raised talented players up through their highly successful youth program with Dan Gray being a current example.

The youngster is now a regular in Lee Richardson's side although playing in a right back position as opposed to his centre midfield position at the youth team.

Second year scholar Jordan Bowery has been impressive this year upfront for the youth team and at the young age of 17 has already featured twice on the bench for the first XI.

January promises to be a busy month for Dave Bentley's side with four fixtures in a matter of weeks.

For their next league match Chesterfield take on Scunthorpe United on January 3rd 2009 at Warminster Road, KO 11am.
