The Spireites' U18 side registered a strong win against the youngsters of Teversal having fallen behind after 26 minutes when the home side took the lead from a corner kick routine.

That goal came after Martyn Freestone, Richie Holmes and Sam Smith had gone close in what was a closely fought opening to the game that had seen Jordan Bowery limp off after taking a set of studs on his shin in a 50-50 challenge.

Teversal's lead lasted just two minutes, Freestone levelled with a sliding shot after a great run and cross from Ryan Granger.

Chesterfield took the lead on 43 when Holmes powered in a header from a corner and from then on Dave Bentley's boys looked the only winners. Kieron Davies hit the bar straight after the restart, Teversal themselves hit the post from a free kick in a rare second half sortie forwards.

A 73rd minute own goal, sliced in from a Davies right wing cross was followed by an Alex Winfield shot (81) to complete the scoring, Chris Tingay and Tendayi Darikwa were involved in the build up.

With Bowery leaving the pitch on crutches and Adam Smith and Sandy Moller also on the sidelines, there's plenty of work needed on the treatment table before the lads take on Calverton (A) on Wednesday 30th July.

Team: Malak (Webb 46), Granger, Clare (Adcock 46), Burns, Holmes, Tingay, Freestone (Davies 46), Clay, Bowery (S.Smith 20), Winfield, Darikwa (Freestone 82).
