A rampant Hartlepool side scored two goals in each half against a lack-luster Chesterfield team which included a couple of U16 players - Jimmy Adcock and Craig Clay.

The noon kick off encounter could have ended in further embarrassment but for two fine saves from Blues 'keeper Daniel Whatsize. The Chesterfield attack offered little in reply and the game ended in a dramatic circumstances for the usually reliable central defender Cameron Fearon after he received a second yellow, for something he appeared to say to the referee.

Chesterfield: Daniel Whatsize, Michael Bearder, Paul Roome, Jimmy Adcock, Ritchie Holmes (Dan Gary 54), Cameron Fearon, Josh Lowe, Craig Clay, Jordan Bowery, Alex Winfield, Ben Algar.

Yellow cards: Roome 40, Fearon 64, 86

Red card: Fearon 86.

Hartlepool United goals: 10, 26 50, 70.
