After conceding three early goals the Spireites youth team, sponsored by BMW Stratstone, managed to pull the score back to 3-3 before more mistakes led  to a disappointing 6-3 defeat in the league game against Hull City.

The youngsters got off to a bad start when they gave away two of the goals inside 17 minutes through losing possession from throw-in's.

Cooper- Richards then had a good opportunity to score on 21 minutes but failed to finish one-on-one with the keeper.

Williams then created himself a goal with a good first touch to take him past the centre back and fire across the keeper on 23 minutes.

The lads again shot ourselves in the foot by giving the ball away and being punished when Fearon brought down the striker inside the box for a penalty on 31 minutes.

Half time 3-1 to Hull.

The team started the second half very brightly and after only 22 seconds from the kick-off Lowe crossed across the box to see Williams just fail to make contact.

After some good pressure Cooper- Richards then scored at the near post with a fine shot after 55 minutes.

Lowe then broke from midfield to hit a shot against the crossbar on 61 minutes.

Burns then come on for Smith on 65 minutes.

Bowery made the score 3-3 when a Williams shot was pushed out for him to tap home.

The team continued to press and looked the side most likely to go on and win, but some individual bad defending let the side down on 80 minutes.

From a free kick Bearder lost his man who headed home at the back post, 4-3.

Burns then failed to track his midfield player on 86 minutes who side-footed home a cross from the left, 5-3.

Then in injury time the young keeper made a mess from a cross and Hull punished the error at the back post, 6-3.

Youth team manager Dave Bentley said: "A very disappointing result as we had worked hard to get ourselves back into the game then lost it due to not concentrating at vital times."
