Barry made ten appearances for the Forest side that he joined as a 16-year-old. Chesterfield signed him after a short trial period in the summer of 2006 and he established himself as first-choice between the sticks.
At 6'4" in height Barry has the look of a comanding 'keeper; his ground work and positioning have rescued the Spireites with many one-on-one saves and he is an accomplished penalty-stopper, too.
Barry briefly lost his place during 2006-7 to Michael Jordan, but came back in an admirably determined fashion to reclaim his starting spot, looking more decisive and confident in his aerial work. He is still young, for a keeper, and Chesterfield fans hope another goalkeeping great is developing at Saltergate.
