Rejoined Chesterfield in the summer of 2009 from Nottingham Forest. Was Spireites skipper the last time the club won promotion in 2001. Originally at Rotherham, he moved to Saltergate in 1997 and established himself as a favourite very quickly. Moved on to Wigan, where he won two promotions and then on to Forest, another club he stepped up a division with. Was chased by several clubs but John Sheridan beat off the competition to sign the centre back, who was a regular in his first season back. Club Captain.
