Alex Bailey got it and played it down the line, and I controlled it, and trickled it in!

You looked as though you'd been taken too wide?

You're never too wide, eh? Come on! I was in the penalty area and it sat up nicely for me, and I thought "I'm here now, so I might as well hit it."

That took the pressure off?

Even at two, you're never quite sure, especially when the fourth official put up five minutes. If you get one in five, you can get another one.

Tell us about you strike partner, Jamie Ward?

Fantastic. He was lively today and we struck up a good bond. We stayed close together and played well together, I thought, and the understanding seemed to be there. He took his goal really well. Hopefully when he comes through the injury he'll be a lot stronger and better.

Phil Picken got his first of the season?

I thought that was a good move. If you don't shoot, you don't know if you're going to score.

There was pressure on today, and fans were getting disgruntled ?

Understandably: no-one likes being at the wrong end of the table. Things are tight down there. We don't want to be there and the fans don't want to see that. They wanted to see a performance today, and we gave them that, coupled with some good goals. That's this week; we've got a game on Tuesday and another next Saturday, and hopefully we can put in good performances and get up the table. We've got a good squad but we don't always perform. We're consistently inconsistent. That's why we are in the position we are. When we pass and move, and create opportunities, we can match any side.

It's a long trip to Carlisle on Tuesday?

We're relishing that. We're looking forward to going there on the back of a decent performance. If we play well, who knows?

And it's the local derby on Saturday?

We're not looking that far ahead at the moment. We've won this game and now we look to Carlisle. It's a cliché but we have to take one game at a time.
