LOAN signing Peter Holmes talked to SPIREITES WORLD ahead of his home debut against Brighton this weekend.Read the highlights of the interview right here
Well Peter you are here at Chesterfield on a months loan how do you feel about that
I am excited about being here and the game at Rotherham went well. Hopefully we can build on that result and I can get a few games and help to get the team up the League
You got excited when Caleb Folan scored jumping on his back
That's what the games all about scoring goals and its good for the team to celebrate together
So tells us about your career so far
I started off at Sheffield Wednesday and joined Luton about five years ago. I have played over a hundred League games for them, but have not played much this season. So it's a case of what's the point of being a footballer if you don't play on a Saturday.
You were promoted with Luton
I have been relegated and had two promotions with them and we did really well to win League One the other year. Luton's consolidated really in the Championship last season but they have struggled a bit more this season but they should be alright.
So playing League football again and in the shop window
Ye I suppose I am, but I am just concentrating on doing well for Chesterfield
Any family and friends in the area?
I have a lot of friends in the area from my Sheffield Wednesday days and my Mum and Dad live up in Durham so I should see a bit more of them with Chesterfield being closer than Luton.
Are you married or single?
I have a girlfriend and we have together for seven years now
What do you think you will bring to the side?
I will work hard and get stuck in and be up and at it for the team. I try and get the ball down and pass it because I am not a player that likes to go long ball. So hopefully the supporters will see that and I wouldn't mind getting a few goals too. So for the weekend on the back of two wins the lads should be confident and if we get the crowd behind us we can keep the run going and get three points against Brighton.
Well good luck and welcome to Chesterfield
Thanks
