SILLY GOALS ARE COSTING US

Posted on: Sun 02 Apr 2006

Jamie O'Hara - what about that game?

I thought we were unlucky today: I thought we were on top of them for most of the game. We had a few good chances and if we'd nicked one early in the second half… we were unlucky not to got a result here, today.

Bizarre weather conditions?

Very bizarre! One minute it was sunny, and the next it was absolutely pouring down with rain. I thought we did well, though; the conditions got worse but in the second half, playing into the wind, we still looked like we could score a goal.

We conceded two and were always chasing the game but fought back with that spectacular goal before half time.

It was a great strike by Phil, and good to see him get on the scoresheet.

Did you expect the second half to be more difficult, into the wind?

We got on top of them in the first half and felt unlucky to be behind but thought that if we kept putting it in the corners the wind would help hold the ball up and we could get in behind. We were on top in the second half too and the wind made it easier for us to get on the end of it, but it just didn't happen for us.

Colin Larkin looked like getting the equaliser

That was a great save- if we had scored there, it would have changed the game completely.

They got the third, to kill it off.

Yeah; it was a great ball in; we knew about his runs but just didn't pick him up. That was our best performance in recent weeks and we were unlucky to come away with a defeat. We were confident; we've seemed to play well against the better teams, but silly goals are costing us, at the moment.
