JAMIE O'HARA was rightly pleased with his first goal for Chesterfield at Bournemouth but recognised its importance to the team, as he explains here

Jamie OHaraJamie - what was it like to score your first ever League goal?

It was great, because it was a goal we needed - we needed the result, and to get such a great goal as well, I was absolutely chuffed to bits.

Talk us through it?

Hursty got it down the wing, beat a player and cut inside and I'm on the edge of the box, so I thought I'd give him a yell, and he's slipped me a lovely little ball and I thought "Keep your head down, keep composed and hit the target." Luckily I've absolutely creamed it and its gone in the top corner!

And that meant all three points for the Spireites?

We said at the beginning that we needed all three. We held on at the end but it was a great result - to come here and get all three points keeps us in line for the play-offs.

Bournemouth were interested in signing you themselves, so the goal was a bit ironic?

They were in for me but I chose Chesterfield; I really like the manager and the staff and the lads have been brilliant. I'm delighted that I've come here.

The penalty: which particular incident did the referee penalise?

I think he gave it after it went across the goal and their player sort of leant into Gaz and I really couldn't see what it was for and I was right in line with it.

They looked good at the back and looked like they could pass it around but we pressed them in the second half and got on top. Larkin came on and used his pace, and Hursty's a good lad - I've never really known his before but he's come in and we've got on well - I know what he can do and he knows what I can do. Its brilliant to have that outlet: I know I can give it to him and he'll do something for us.
