Sponsors Man of The Match new signing Barry Conlon spoke to Spireites Player after one of the strangest days of his career which ended up with him scoring the winning goal against Torquay United.
Barry told Player "It's a bit of a strange one I woke up a Grimsby player and ended up scoring the winner as a Chesterfield player. I got a call late yesterday afternoon and I arrived first thing and everything went through in time for me to play. I know a few of the squad which made things a little easier and hopefully we can have a good week in training now the snows gone.
The goal came from a good weighted ball from Greeny and i just had to slot it home and it was a good feeling when it hit the back of the net. I thought we defended well and dug deep and hopefully we can get a few wins and push on up the table. "
Fellow new boy Dominic Green also talked to Spireites Player after the win against Torquay
On the game Dominic to Player "To be fair I don't think it couldn't really have gone any better with the win and the three points which take us into the play off spots".
Talking briefly about his career to date Dominic added "I started my career with West Ham Community and I played in a local cup final at Dagenham and they offered me a professional contract. I only played a handful of games for them and then I got a move at Peterborough. "
Dominic then revealed he used to support the Hammers in his youth but now he just likes football and likes to watch Barcelona and the likes of Lionel Messi , Iniesta and Xavi. Dominic then was asked about his first impressions of life at Saltergate
"I have only been here a few hours really. But the first impressions are good, and I have enjoyed every minute so far. The team likes to attack and I want to play first team football after a frustrating time on the bench mainly at Peterborough "
