"I play upfront and you could state that I'm a target man and I've chipped in with a few goals this season. I scored a couple here at Saltergate and it was a good night for Macclesfield. My height makes a difference and I hope to compete for a place and get some goals".

"I started in the South West at Plymouth Argyle and moved to Torquay and then Grimsby and finally at Macclesfield. Ultimately we want to get into those higher reaches and success is definitely achievable. Everyone can beat everyone else and consistently put in performances then you go further. In the second half of the season hopefully we can chip away and try to get there."

"I've scored some important goals that have got promotion but not too spectacular. I want to build for the future and my contract was up at Macclesfield at the end of the season so here I am. I want my place in the team and hopefully for Saturday and to stay on the team and get up the league and get into the play off position. Chesterfield is one point ahead of Macclesfield and they seemed quite happy with their season so it just shows the ambition and the difference between the two sides."

Welcome to Saltergate Martin.
