New Spireite Danny Hall talked to Spireites World TV about joining Chesterfield and initially reflected back at his short time at troubled Gretna.

"Gretna took over my contract from Shrewsbury in January. Things didn't really work out after the chairman became ill and there's now no Gretna. It was rough time and others were affected far more than me really and we found out news largely from watching Sky Sports news and it was really a sad way for a club to end. But (Lee) the Gaffers been up to see me play for Gretna and I am obviously pleased now to be here at Saltergate after the Gretna administrators told us in May that our contracts were cancelled"

Danny then went onto to describe himself as a versatile footballer saying "I am versatile, although having played at centre half for the majority of my career so far, I have played at right back and left back and in midfield for Shrewsbury so I am quite versatile."

Danny revealed his past and a release by Ronnie Moore from Oldham but also knows a bit about the Spireites after playing against the Spireites and his knowledge of League One and Two also influenced his decision to join the Spireites.

"Gary Peters my former Shrewsbury boss rated Chesterfield as one of the better sides in League Two and whenever I have played against Chesterfield it's been a tough game

He also realises he faces a stiff challenge to get into the first team and told Spireites World

"Rob Page has signed along with Kevin Austin so there is a wealth of experience, and there's the other centre back who is away with Australia. So there are four centre halves challenging for two places which is ideal and exactly what a club wants. So there is no room for error if you are in the first team.

Danny then looked forward to the season ahead and added "With Peterborough and Mk Don's getting promotion the league appears wide open. But we seem to be recruiting well so there's no reason why we shouldn't gain automatic promotion. I am looking forward to doing well here and to build on that and gain a longer contract next season hopefully in League One"
