I spoke to the gaffer at Swansea at the back end of the season and he said Chesterfield were interested in me and I had a few weeks to think it over and now I am here. We had a very good season at Swansea and I hope that we can do it all over again here at Chesterfield. I could have stayed at Swansea but I really like the vibe from the manager here and I felt it was the right time to move and this is the right challenge for me. I feel that the Club is ambitious otherwise I wouldn't be here.
On his career
I started at Leyton Orient as a school boy and was released and went into non league and then Orient came back in for me. I then moved to Lincoln and got promoted there and moved onto Barnsley. I got a bad injury and it didn't really work out for me there. I then had a loan spell at Brentford and a short spell at Cambridge before a move to Bristol Rovers really got my career back on track. We didn't really do as well as we should have for a team of Rovers size in the league we were in. I then moved to Swansea and picked up the Doorman name and had a great time down there.
What type player
I am described as a competitive stopper who can play at centre half or at full back. I hope that I can help the club move in the right direction. My first aim is to try and get into the team because there are some good players here already. I understand that my first Chesterfield appearance will also be my 500th senior appearance. Which is something I will be very proud of, it's gone very quickly. I have enjoyed every minute of it and hopefully I will enjoy my time here at Chesterfield.
