Well Kevin tell us about yourself

I see coming to Chesterfield is a good challenge for me

You know Lee Richardson from your time at Huddersfield

Ye I played with the manager at Huddersfield and knew what he was like as a player and after speaking to him as a manager I jumped at the chance really. I am really looking forward to working with him again and also Wayne Allison and Shane Nicholson who I have also played with.

So tell us what Lee was like as a player

He was good player actually who liked to get stuck in and was very good on the ball. Though he tended to be a bit lazy at times, I'm joking (laughs), but he was a good player and I enjoyed playing with him. But now I will have to adjust and give him the respect that the manager deserves.

You will no doubt be looking towards a hat trick of promotions

That would be fantastic and that's what we are aiming for. But it won't be easy getting promotion. It's a tough league to get out of and the football is not of a bad standard and everyone's trying to get out of it. But I feel we have that little extra quality in the squad which will help.

You're known as a bit of a bruiser

I don't know, I thought I was a ball player (laughs), I am just a centre half and am paid to stop other teams scoring goals.

So why Chesterfield?

Chesterfield, believe it or not, is a decent club and after talking with Lee I was impressed with what he had to say about his hopes for the future

So you started off at Mansfield

Yes I did a long time ago, then I moved to Huddersfield, had a few good years there before a less successful spell at Tranmere. I then moved onto Carlisle and now I am here at Chesterfield

What's your aims for the season?

To get fit in pre-season and play some matches but the most important thing is that the Club is successful.  Like I say, it won't be easy to get promoted after coming down from a higher league
