Family Fun Day STILL ON

Posted on: Mon 07 Jun 2010

The Spireites Family Fun Day still goes ahead although Saltergate has had one last laugh.  Torrential early morning rain means that some attractions have had to be curtailed due to a waterlogged pitch.

Most of the attractions are in the giant marquee which is unaffected by the rain, and the afternoon forecast is for sunshine.

Some events on the pitch have had to be postponed, such as the 6 a side football, which will now be re-arranged.

No footy on the pitch but nice and dry in the marquee

There are refreshments with a licensed bar and pig roast and still plenty to see and do.

Entry to the event will now be free, but anyone with a pre-paid ticket should hold onto it as it will now be valid for a special Family Fun Day, which will be held at the b2net stadium in September - the date will be arranged after the new fixtures are released

There will still be one last chance to look round the Recreation Ground when viewing takes place next Sunday 13 June between 9.30am and 11.30am, ahead of the memorabilia auction which will take place on the pitch.
