A giant marquee on the Saltergate pitch will provide the centre-piece for a historic last weekend of nostalgia, entertainment and fun as Chesterfield FC commemorate 139 years of football at the Recreation Ground this weekend.
Three events will take place with two sell-out functions for 720 people each night starting this Friday with a Farewell Banquet with a cavalcade of fifty Saltergate legends and this Saturday the annual Player of the Year Awards Night attended by all current players.
The local Brampton Brewery are operating the bar, with a service to table waiter service. Beers include the specially brewed End of an Era Farewell Beer, Brampton Best Bitter and Brampton Stout, premium beers include Carling Lager.
Friday's black tie Farewell Banquet will witness a cavalcade of nearly 50 Saltergate legends, including World Cup hero Gordan Banks, record goalscorer (162 league goals) Ernie Moss, most attendances over 500 each) Jamie Hewitt and Dave Blakey, longest serving manager John Duncan, and many, many, more from all eras.

The Family Fun Day from 12 noon to 5.00pm with many family attractions and chance for one last look round. Around 1,800 tickets for this event have already been sold but it is still possible to pay on the day as well.
