Tickets are now on sale for the Spireites 'End of an Era' Family Fun Day on the pitch at Saltergate on Sunday 6 June 2010, 12 noon to 5.00pm.
It's not only the last chance to look round the Recreation Ground before the turnstiles are closed for ever, it is also a fun packed day of fun for all ages with competitions, entertainment, refreshments and much more in the giant marquee on the pitch. Tickets, which cost just £5 adults, £3 children, Under 5's free, are expected to be snapped up by fans wanting to soak up the atmosphere of Saltergate for one last time.
Fans can meet the players old and new, and there will be children's entertainers, face painting, beat the goalie, bouncy castle, tombola, speed cage, spot the ball, play your cards right, and the last ever ground tours.
Refreshments include a barbecue with spit roast and licensed bar. Entertainment includes a disco and live performances from the renowned Shirebrook Miners Welfare Brass Band. There will be a balloon race with two season tickets for the b2net stadium on offer for the winner of the balloon which travels furthest.

Local youngsters can also take part in the Saltergate Farewell Cup, a 6-a-side football competition for both Under 8's and Under 11's. It will be the last ever games played on the hallowed turf of Saltergate. Application forms are available from the Spireites Club Shop and entries are being accepted on a first come first served basis for twelve teams in each age group. Entry fee is £50 per team, which also includes free fun day tickets for one adult and eleven children.
The Family Fun Day is the final 'End of an Era' event of a tear-jerking weekend for the Spireites with a Friday night Farewell Banquet and Saturday night Player of the Year Awards Night and Farewell Dance, all taking place to celebrate 139 years of football at Saltergate before the move to the new b2net stadium.
