BBC Match Of The Day commentator Guy Mowbray is to front a new Monday night football league show that will give fans across Yorkshire and Lincolnshire unparalleled access to their teams on TV.
Late Kick Off will feature in-depth coverage of the teams, players, managers and the backroom stories of all 12 non-Premiership teams across the region - Chesterfield, Sheffield Wednesday and Sheffield United, Barnsley, Rotherham, Doncaster, Leeds United, Huddersfield Town, Bradford City, Grimsby Town, Scunthorpe United and Lincoln City.
The show, which starts on 18 January 2010 on BBC One Yorkshire and Lincolnshire at 11.15pm, will get right to the heart of local football with a mix of discussion, opinion, interviews and match analysis.
Producer Andy Joynson said it is more than just a highlights programme - Late Kick Off promises to get to grips with the issues fans want to talk about, as well as giving some insightful reports both on and off the pitch.
He said: "At the moment these teams are well served by their local radio stations and Look North but we'll be able to give fans much more air-time and a dedicated programme to tap into their passion.
"The programme will be fan-based, edgy and fun. We will aim to get right to the heart of these teams and their fans to share the enthusiasm and energy of the beautiful game in Yorkshire and Lincolnshire."
Presenter Guy Mowbray, 37, lives in his home city of York. He is already one of football's best-known and respected voices. Now he's stepping in front of the camera.
He will be joined each week by different guests and pundits from the world of football to talk about the weekend's biggest games.
He said: "I've been lucky enough to travel all over the world watching football, but my main interest will always be the stuff that happens close to home. Late Kick Off will give fans in our region so much more about their club.
"Us football commentators lead quite a nomadic existence at times, so it's great to be closer to home and getting stuck into what's happening in our region.
"The football will be taken very seriously - I do live by Bill Shankly's famous quote myself - but we're going to have a lot of fun with it as well. We're definitely not Panorama!"
Late Kick Off complements coverage of the Football League - which returned to the BBC in August for the first time since 1988 - building on the success of the network highlights programme, The Football League Show, along with live coverage of two League Cup semi-finals and the League Cup final.
Along with action from the Premier League on Match Of The Day and BBC Radio 5 Live, the BBC provides sports fans with access to all the goals and all the action, the length and breadth of the country.
Late Kick Off will also be available on BBC iPlayer and the Spireites are also being featured by BBC Midlands
