Chesterfield FC is starting to make preparations for this Saturday's home game against Torquay United with pitch snow clearing now underway.
The aim is to move sections of snow off the pitch and replace it with the frost covers. As progress is made the whole pitch will end up covered again by the frost covers to help protect the pitch from any overnight frost ahead of the game.

Thanks to an army of around nearly 30 willing volunteers a third of the Saltergate pitch has now been cleared of snow and replaced by frost covers to protect the pitch.
The snow clearing operation for the remaining two thirds will continue from 10.00am Thursday morning and volunteers with snow shovels, and especially wheelbarrows, will be welcome once again.
A hearty cup of tea is on tap and a match ticket for this Saturday's game against Torquay United will be issued to every volunteer.
Clearing the snow does not guarantee the game will go ahead, but it at least gives it a chance.
Chesterfield FC would like to publicly thank the volunteers for their efforts so far ,including the Torquay United fan who turned up - he didn't have to travel from Devon though he lives at Spital.
There is still much snow shifting to be done.

Stadium manager Colin Nellist said: "We are taking account of the weather forecast and doing the work in stages should make the whole operation more manageable."
He added: "It is a big job so we need to supplement the existing groundstaff with volunteers as we also need to shift the snow from some of the terracing, entrance ways and exits, as well as the pitch itself."
Anyone wishing to volunteer should turn up at Saltergate.
If there is any doubt about the weather ring stadium manager Colin Nellist on 07919 053 664.
All volunteers should access the Recreation Ground via Saltergate and not the main entrance on St Margarets Drive.
