The Spireites duo have been signed up by Coghlan's School of Cookery for its Sportingchef dinner which aims to raise at least £10,000 at the event to be held on Thursday 2 October.

Lee and Scott will be competing in the kitchen against other famous sports stars with each team cooking a starter, fish course, main course and dessert for 50 guests who will vote for the winning team.

Andrew Coghlan, managing director of the Chesterfield based cookery school, said: "The idea is they have to produce 50 covers pretty much on their own, with only a little guidance.

"But they are going to be under a certain amount of pressure to produce results, bit like a football match really."

An auction will also take place to raise even more money for the cause, with prizes including sporting memorabilia and a special Rangemaster oven.

Former Sheffield United stars Brian Deane and Simon Tracy will make up a team, athletes Jamie Baulch and Colin Jackson are also hoping to pair up for the event and former Newcastle United player John Beresford is also taking part.

Ex Sheffield Wednesday players Chris Waddle and David Hirst are also hoping to part of the culinary event.

TV crews will be there to record the event.

Last year the cookery school raised £17,000 for Children in Need when it successfully auctioned off bottles of fine wine signed by every Premiership manager.

Tickets for this year's event are priced at £75, with just a few left.
