LESTER BOOST FOR SPIREITES

Posted on: Sun 07 Sep 2008

Striker Jack Lester is expected to return for Wednesday night's cup clash against his old side Grimsby Town in the first round of the Johnstone's Paint Trophy at Saltergate (kick-off 7.30pm).

He has been out for a couple of weeks since limping off with a thigh strain early in the first home game of the season against Bury.

Captain Rob Page is also expected to return to the side after being absent from last weekend's  league game against Wycombe Wanderers for compassionate family reasons.

Meanwhile, loanee goalkeeper Trevor Carson misses the game as he is on international duty this week with Northern Ireland U21's who have a European U21 Championship game in Germany.  His place will be taken by the return of Tommy Lee in goal.

Lee Richardson has said:  "With the financial rewards on offer for teams that make it to Wembley there is a big incentive to do well and we are really keen to progress this season."
