Northampton Town have signed former Spireite striker  Colin Larkin under the Bosman ruling.

Larkin joined Chesterfield in the summer of 2005 after being released by Mansfield Town just a few months before.  In 2 years at Saltergate he started 66 games, with a further 24 substitute appearances, scoring 13 times.

He joined Mansfield for a £125,000 fee from Wolverhampton Wanderers back in 2002 and scored 26 goals in 70 starts for the Field Mill club, with another 36 substitute appearances. In total, including a spell at Kidderminster, he has scored 47 goals in 169 senior starts. The 25 year old, 5ft 9in Irishman has agreed a 2 year contract at Sixfields.
